  • Land Certification Project

Consolate Ndikumana is a widow from Makamba who saw her children removed from their land when she wanted to remarry. There followed a long legal fight between her and her former in-laws which ended in 2014 with the seizure of her land and her children found themselves in the street. Thanks to the land certification project on which Miparec, Zoa and Auxfin are collaborating, she was able to recover the inheritance of her children in due form. Auxfin has created G50s in Makamba where members can pay for land certificates cheaply online through Nicash. The members of the group of which Consolate is part make continuous savings which allows them to pay their certificates but also once paid, the signed certificate is scanned and sent to the electronic account of the owner of the plot. Note that in addition to land certificates, members have access to other services available in Nicash such as the payment of fertilizers.
